Identifying a blown IC
« on: 31 December 2013, 21:42:21 »
Anyone know if there is a resource that can search for an IC when only part of number is visible?

It's an 8 pin DIL SMD package ending in 02H...
Location is near the "Double-link DVI-D socket", possibly connected to one of the pins... (will see if I can determine this)...
Another component also part of the same circuitry appears to be a 3 pin diode again, it's blown so I can't read any part number...

The device in question is a Yamakasi Catleap Monitor from Korea...
I note some PCB's are possibly from LG so it may be possible to identify components form this section if compared to similar LG monitors...

Any help appreciated...
Mike

Hi
Too little information.
Specify the board model and make a photo.

The monitor is: Yamakasi Catleap (Q270)...

The board information:
D-910 (Rev 1.1)

Other number that might be of interest...
MP-27"V7-WIT
2015.07.27 AT

And thank you for the help...
Mike

Update:
Found a second person with the same/similar problem..
On his board U11 is blown too but D7 seems fine...

D7 is intact and identified with ".B 3"
U11 is blown but you can just make out some part numbers  (attached image at bottom)...

Note the only thing I can read on my U11 is "02H" (the end of one of the numbers)...

So far that's 3 boards with the same/similar fault and there may be more...

I updated my previous post with more info...

I believe these are the components...

U11 = 24C02
D9 = MC2383

I examined the LG 42SL8000 (42LS80) schematic you posted ref. TV LCD LG 32SL8000 and my PCB

U11 & D9
Pins 1,2,3,4 are connected to ground, same as schematic...
Pins 5,6,7 have 4k7 resistors connected to Vcc, same as schematic...
The common cathodes for D9 also looks same... so I am 95% sure these components are correct...

The part numbers that best match for the IC (U11) and D7 are:
AT24C02BN-10SU-1.8 (I can see 02H on the blow IC on my board) and ENKMC2838-T112

What do you reckon on the parts and do you think there's any chance of ever getting a schematic for this?

I can not help with the scheme.

I think:
U11 - you have identified correctly.
D7 - 1SS184.
